It takes a while before the symptoms start showing. He probably thought he had taken the right precautions and therefor couldn’t get sick. And since he wasn’t feeling sick either, well… people go have fun.
Yeah, I know. The disease is only transmittable when you’ve got symptoms, and as soon as he recognized them, he went in to a hospital– where he is now getting treated.
But I just think it’s really rude and incredibly inconsiderate. Like, New York has at least 8.4 million people in it, and he took a subway, took a walk, got some coffee, went bowling, and could you just imagine if he didn’t notice his symptoms early enough? If he’d just coughed once while on that subway?
Like he’s just waiting to kickstart an epidemic. I’m a little angry that he was in public so much after helping people in need.
I’m not hating on him for going to Africa to help the countries in need, because that’s probably the most important thing to do right now and he’s pretty noble to do that, but he knew the risks he was taking. He knew he might get the disease.
And it’s not about “don’t let him have fun, he’s a doctor” kind of thing, either. Go ahead, talk to friends, take a walk, get some food. But don’t put more people in harm’s way than you absolutely need to. That city is disgusting and unsanitary and Ebola would rip it apart if it got a hold of it.
