Today the sun rose over the UK and Europe, the same way it always has. It’ll rise again tomorrow.
The UK will take about 2 years minimum to undergo the process of leaving. Some members of parliament will try to stall the leaving process. There’s still time to brace yourself, to be strong, to move on. Life continues.
Regardless of all that has happened, you continue to breathe. Your favorite song can still play. Your smile is there for whoever you want to give it to. Politics can’t take that away from you. You’ve lived this long. You exist. You’ll get through this.

This is important. Everything is a process and everything is moving forwards, upwards, towards better things. It’s just hard to see that when you’re part of it.
Here’s a thought: If you support ace/aro people, but only if they have a matching orientation you think is valid, and aren’t like het or anything, you don’t actually support ace/aro people. You support your own groups and you don’t give a shit about ace/aro people and their specific experiences. If you only take it seriously when attached to a group you find valid, that’s not fucking support, okay? That’s just as much of a slap in the face to any lgbt ace/aro people, cause what you’re saying is that their experiences don’t matter unless tacked on to the end of your specific group.

These dudes are fucking legit. They don’t just show up one day in court, either, they actually make friends with the kids and let them know they have a support system and that there are people in the world who care about them and will always have their back. And less important, but also cool, is that the few times a couple of them have come into my cafe, they’ve been super friendly and polite and when I told one of the guys that I noticed his Bikers Against Child Abuse patch and wanted him to know how awesome I thought he was because of it, he got kind of shy and blushed and said, “The kids are the awesome ones, we just let them know they’re allowed to be brave.”
The source is long, but so, so good. These men and women are available in 36 states, 24 hours a day to stand guard at home, in court, at school, even if the child has a nightmare. Many of them are survivors of childhood abuse as well, and know what it’s like to feel scared and alone.

They go on runs to protect the child if they feel even the slightest threatened no matter where. If the child needs them to go on vacation with them, they do. Bikers come from across the nation to watch over and take shifts for these kids. And the best part is once you’re adopted into this family as a BACA kid, you’re always one. Even when you’re 40 and the perp gets released from jail, they’ll come meet with you and find your best options for avoiding the person and maintaining the life you’ve built for yourself. Once a BACA child, always a BACA child. In Florida, there’s 100% rate for identifying the perp based on the child’s testimony. Why? Because BACA stands with the child and supports the child so they feel comfortable enough to point out their attacker.

On another news, right now in the main plaza, the center of Oaxaca, federal police have cut the lights to make “cleaning” which means dragging and killing all the protesters they can. Ambulances and military jeeps were advising people for NOT helping the protesters or take refugees, or they will be “cleaned” too.
6 protesters were confirmed killed due to the use of large weapons by the police. More protesters are disappeared and some are confirmed (just by the survivors) death or burned. In Hacienda Blanca they were killed too.
Also, hospitals, doctors and medicine students aren’t allowed to help or receive the protester, all of this are orders coming from president Enrique Peña Nieto, and the public education secretary Aurelio Nuño Mayer.

Earlier today, Jo Cox, a Labour MP in Northern England, was stabbed and shot at an event in a library.
It has just been confirmed that she has died due to the attack.
She was a great campaigner and humanitarian, and has left behind a husband and two children.
This kind of event happens rarely in the UK, and so this is terrifying and destabilising that such a horrific thing has happened to such a compassionate person.
Can thoughts on Tumblr turn to the UK today please, and turn to remember a woman who has been brutally murdered after a lifetime of trying to build a better country.
