just got back from a checkup from my ~lady doctor~ and it went much better than expected
i’m ace, as most of you know lmao, and the thought of sitting in stirrups for a pap smear makes me feel physically sick and i didnt know if one was required because of my birth control so i was super stressed
but it went a little like this:
“are you currently sexually active?” “no”
“have you ever been sexually active?” “no”
and then my doc turns around to look at me and asks, super casually
“will you ever be?” “no”
and then dropped the subject, no pap for me, and that,,,,,
feels so nice? like my sexuality, or lack thereof, has been something ive been wrestling with for quite some time now and to have her just neutrally accept and accommodate for it? that was really really cool. like i dont need any flashing neon signs or hundreds of reblogged tumblr posts that say “uwu ur valid dont let the haters get u down” like if my sexuality could just not be treated like some strange thing and just accepted as casually as allosexuality is? thatd be pretty neat
