you… you do know who we’re talking about here right

the king of ‘i’m going to tread on an entire planet of people to get my way’

mr. ‘i’m going to send my own right hand man to his death because it’s pretty convenient’

sir ‘you know what my daughter would be good for? an all in one hyperion AI/battery charger/i also wonder if i could use her to heat up food somehow’

what she says: i’m fine
what she means: people often cite handsome jack’s hair style as the most confusing element to his character, but this is a gross oversight of the real elephant in the room: his mask where does one even start. okay, so there’s his eyebrows. we know he is capable of full articulation with them but that would be nigh impossible if they were just painted on when it comes to displaying more intricate emotions. are they his actual eyebrows showing through??? high-res images show lines that could suggest a hairy texture, a style commonly adapted in fanartists’ depictions, and which is also an unsettling mental image to say the least when you really think about it realistically, but that brings up another point entirely, which is his eyes. we know his left eye is completely damaged, therefore what are we seeing when the mask is on? a hologram? some weird contact that’s actually built into the mask? more troubling yet, how do the eyelids work? there is literally no way you could get a mask’s eyelids to move with your own. therefore are we seeing his actual eyelids beneath the mask? if so why are they not a different color? and just take a moment to consider how honestly disturbing that would look. we’re moving into some leatherface territory now. i haven’t even gotten to talking about his lips, which we know must be the mask’s due to color, yet the level of articulation is once again inexplicable. additionally, what is the mask even made of? we see that he has wrinkles in it, but are these pre-made or somehow impossibly reflecting the ones he has beneath? but all of this is also a moot discussion in comparison to the one of why didn’t he just get his actual face repaired? jack, with his priorities well in order, requests a doctor after lilith injures him, yet the face we see beneath the mask has a scar that looks like it healed terribly, aforementioned missing eye, etc– so what did said doctor actually do? did this man have any credentials at all? furthermore, we know through moxxi that jack is no stranger to plastic surgery (though this may be considered an unreliable account) and we know the technology in borderlands is great enough that timothy, who looked nothing like jack, could be given a face that appears identical to jack’s, so why the mask? why a mask that doesn’t even come close to matching his actual skin tone? were bolts that are drilled into his skull really the best option available for a man capable of buying an estimated 7 billion dollar horse? i have so many questions about this and they haunt me.
