sooo i guess i’m doing these again. now featuring our mercerful merciful dm/god, mercer. i finished this at like ass o’clock last night/this morning ‘cause i was on a roll and i make poor life decisions
I’ve only been in this fandom for like a month and in that month i saw Matt Mercer take the bury your gays trope and crush it with a display of the most badass magic. I’m seeing more and more incredible queer characters show up and their sexuality just being taken as completely normal. I saw the cast openly show support for the orlando shooting (something that may have made me cry quite a bit). The fans of the show seem lovely and despite there being thousands of overlapping ships, people arent arses about it (in fact to settle the issue I’m seeing a lot of polyamorous headcanons which is just so great)
For someone who was pretty much giving up hope with most tv shows/webseries/movies with shitty queer representation or bad writing with characters i just don’t care about, I’m so glad I discovered this show.
I’m looking forward to being a part of this fandom and following the insane lives of Vox Machina
When Grog runs, it’s because he’s chasing something. It’s because Vox Machina has found new prey and he’s on the hunt. He’s got to get there first, finish things before they start.
When Keyleth runs, it’s because she has somewhere to be. She knows where she is needed, what she needs to do. She can’t fail, not when she’s running with Vox Machina.
Pike runs because people are in trouble, because she can do something about it. Be it through violence or healing, Pike running can be the difference between life and death.
Percy doesn’t particularly run, he’s usually on the outskirts. If he’s running, he’s looking for a better angle. Work smarter, not harder.
Vex runs for a couple of different reasons. Sometimes she runs for fun, because she can, without shoes and with Trinket. Other times she runs because Vax is in trouble. Again.
Vax runs as a rule, has to. He’s got to get and and get out in a matter of seconds, as he’s squishy as hell and really isn’t good at sticking around. He runs because his fingers are sticky, he runs to protect his sister.
As smooth as Gilmore comes across, I think it’s really important to remember that this is also the man who left for a romantic afternoon date on a moment’s notice as soon as Vax asked, who came running in from another city the instant he heard that Vax was there looking for him. Like, he puts a lot of effort into his casually charming demeanor, but make no mistake there is a 99.99% chance that he has been absentmindedly casting Prestidigitation to scrawl sparkly arcane hearts in the air around him and doodling “♡♥Mr. Vax’ildan Gilmore♥♡♥” over and over in the margins of his spellbook.
