characters dont have to be good people to be great characters

Forever over the condescending notion that fans of certain characters ignore all that character’s flaws because said character is attractive. Or that the fans are only fans because they are in a state of willful ignorance and pretend their fave is perfect.

Isn’t this why the whole, “your fave is problematic” thing became a meme? Most people are aware. Just because they don’t add a disclaimer to every post about their fave listing out all those problematic things, doesn’t mean they’re pretending those things don’t exist. It just means that they still love that character despite (or, gasp, even because of) those flaws.
