Welcome to the space age, ladies and gentlemen

This is really quite a big deal. A tremendous amount of modern research ends up being sold to journals which require unreasonable payments to access it and only pay the original authors a pittance. It’s nice to see an agency like NASA deliberately widebanding its findings.

Not sure if people fully realize just how big of a deal this is.

THIS is how science is advanced. Not through biased corporate research, business secrets, marketing, paywalls and patent wars. But through open, uncensored and unrestricted public access to knowledge.

NASA IS GOOD, NASA IS GREAT

@osunism

NASA is the hero we don’t deserve.

This deserves every reblog.

DOWNLOAD AS MUCH AS YOU CAN bc there’s good reason to believe this isn’t going to stay available.

The official Badlands National Park twitter (@BadlandsNPS) is defying Trump’s gag-order by posting climate change statistics.

This is what resistance looks like.

These tweets have now been deleted. The government suppression of information is in full swing.

Let’s keep these tweets going around, in defiance of Trump and in respect for the person risked their job to post them.

This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell.

That’s my Sociology “book”. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; there’s something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor.

This is why we download.

Spreading this shit like nutella because goddamn textbooks are so expensive.

not necessarily art related but as someone who couldn’t afford their textbooks this semester this is a godsend

REBLOGGING because after a little digging, I found my $200 textbook for free in PDF form.

friendly reminder that this exists since I know we’re all going back to college soon

Will reblog every time I see it.

For future reference

ALSO, your school library may have it to rent out, if the type of class lends to it you could share with a classmate (+you get a study buddy), or if it’s a minimester you can usually get by with the free trial of the ebook.

always check your options before you buy textbooks!

nobody ever talks about how saying non-binary genders don’t exist is racist as fuck

How?

many many many indigenous cultures have historically included more than two genders and to say that those genders do not exist is to say that those cultural traditions are invalid, and that only the imperialist gender binary is correct. which is racism.

THE WESTERN IDEA OF TWO GENDERS IS EXACTLY THAT

WESTERN

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CULTURES ACROSS THE WORLD WHO SEE GENDER AS A SPECTRUM OR OTHER FORM OUTSIDE OF TWO GENDERS

Recent photo studies! I started rock climbing again this summer(which is still the best thing I’ve ever done for my hand pain) and also realized that climbing pics make terrific figure studies! Really dynamic, but weighty/solid-feeling poses 😀

I left in a bunch of dumb drawings/some pose reiterations here so hopefully you guys can see the thought process behind these too, if you’re curious!

since it’s a scary time to be trans: refuge restrooms is an app which maps gender-neutral/single-stall restrooms. it’s community-mapped, so it’s possible you might be the first person to log the restroom locations, but hopefully it’ll help some people.

please reblog this post if you’ve got trans followers. stay safe.
