If you want to use a non sketchy youtube downloading site I just spent some time making a really simple one here: https://y23.cmder.tech/

It lets you download the video or just the audio of a youtube video

Well since I’ve made this post I’ve added a few features:

Get whole playlists at once (or download all the audio from the playlist in a zip)

Convert audio to mp3/wav

Added the ability to cut up videos/make gifs

If you like the site and want more features why don’t you become a patreon and vote on new ones! https://www.patreon.com/ssn

heyyyy just a reminder to PLEASE NOT USE THIS to download music and stuff illegally. C’mon guys, this directly takes away sales from content creators. Can we just, like, try NOT to break the law and shit all over content creators?

@squigglydigglydoo as both a recording musician and a student of the music industry, to be frank, you’re wrong. Plain and simple.

If piracy is cutting into your digital sales and it’s a problem, it’s because you’re making money from digital sales in the first place. And if you’re making money from digital sales in 2018, it’s because you have enough fans that you don’t need to worry about the money anyway. Streaming services like Spotify have totally crushed iTunes, Bandcamp, and the like, and there’s just not any money to be made from any of it – again, unless you’re attracting the kind of numbers where you don’t have to worry about it.

All the money in the music industry right now is in live shows and exclusive content. Fans like t shirts, we like posters, hell we even like shitty outdated formats like CDs if we can buy them in person from our favorite musician. That kind of stuff provides an experience, it provides person-to-person communication, and it provides a sense of identity and community. People will pay for that still because that’s way more important than the music ever was. It’s all about the heart and spirit, not about the content.

So let people rip music off YouTube. My next album is gonna be pay-what-you-want (read: free) because otherwise, no one will download it anyway. And instead, I’m selling handmade t shirts. Good luck pirating those.

Stop trying to make people pay for things that don’t matter and start letting them buy things that do.

Also this downloader kicks ass, big props to OP.
