Do You Hear The People Sing in various languages

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Do you hear the people sing
singing the song of angry men,
it is the music of a people
who will not be slaves again,
when the beating of your heart,
echoes the beating of a drum,
there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes

🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
A la volonté du people,
et à la santé du progress

🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
Das ist die Symphonie von Menschen,
die nicht länger Sklaven sind!

🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵
新たに熱い命が始まる
(arata ni atsui inochi ga hajimaru)
明日が来た時そうさ明日が
(asu ga kita toki sou sa asu ga)

🇭🇺🇭🇺🇭🇺🇭🇺🇭🇺
Állsz-e mellénk, hogyha kell,
Kiállsz-e értünk s harcunkért?

🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
I från vår barrikad
Så kan man se ett framtidsland
Så kom med och slåss
Du ska kämpa med oss om du kan

🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
Wytęż słuch to śpiewa lud
Co nie chce żyć w niewoli znów

🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
Van al die mensen die verdommen om nog langer slaaf te zijn

🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
When the beating of your heart,
echoes the beating of the drums,
there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes.

🇦🇹🇦🇹🇦🇹🇦🇹🇦🇹
Wenn du kämpfst mit ganzer Kraft,
hat bald ein Ende alle Not.

🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Some will fall and some will live,
will you stand up and take your chance,
the blood of the martyrs will water the meadows of France

🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴
Kan du høyre folkets song?
Det er ein song frå arge menn!

🇨🇿🇨🇿🇨🇿🇨🇿🇨🇿
Chcem tady žít už máme bídy dost i běd i svévolí

🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
Når de dumpe trommers bud svares af stærke hjerteslag
Da skal et bedre liv gå ud i den nye dag

🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Will you join in our crusade
who will be strong and stand with me

🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸
Þannig er söngur þeirra sem að
þrældóm aldrei vilja meir

🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Do you hear the people sing,
say do you hear the distant drums,
it is the future that they bring when tomorrow comes

i really loved this part, not only because holy christ, one of my favourite musicals in my native language, but also because it’s sung in an older dialect of norwegian that i think is very important that norwegians learn, but sadly, the government are debating whether to remove it from the educational system:/

That’s really sad. I also loved that part because he sang it with such feeling that it gave me goosebumps. Now I’m thinking he also sang it with pride for his dialect.

best things:
– irish abraham lincoln
– super short hungarian, super tall icelander
– canadian who looks like canada in one man
– american who isn’t at all fighting the stereotypes with his 7 chins
