no. nobody fucking says that and it’s not what us-centrism means. what people are pissed about is non-american users are guilted for not being up to date with us social and political issues and told we’re bad people for not knowing the details of every major usamerican issue – whilst usamerican tumblr users refuse to educate themselves on topics and issues that aren’t us-based, thus holding the rest of us to a bizarre double standard.
we’re pissed that usamerican tumblr users repeatedly assume that the rest of the world has the exact same social issues & dynamics as the usa. we’re pissed that any attempt to bring up this double standard or encourage usamericans to educaste themselves about our social and political issues (like many of us educate ourselves about usamerican issues), or any attempt to stop usamerican users from shaming non-usamericans for not knowing the details of usamerican social and politicl issues, is met by a pushback reaction that others us and treats our issues as ridiculous and less important than anything that happens in the usa.
and posts like this just prove our goddamn point.
