why is everyone on ajco coming up with these things what is this AU they are talking about

Tonight AJ and a few others have devised a Clue-esque story for us. It takes place in a State AU, however, so we all needed to come up with versions of our characters that would seem valid enough to take part. 

The AU itself stems from AJ’s backstory, where she was part of a dystopian-style society that’s… rather dark. I wish I was able to find the post where it was explained better, but sadly I can’t.
