cookiecest i think what theyre trying to say is that when you grow up in a place where theres a lot of racism, you start thinking like them a lot, too, and it can be hard to overcome. like i live in an area where its predominantly caucasian folks and so it took me a long time to overcome the giant hurdle where i assumed everyone with a hijab or burka was a terrorist or every black person in a hoodie was going to mug me, when they were actually really great people. racism can sometimes be natural, its just up to the individual to open their mind.
