How to balance a checkbook

why is this on my dash. what the fuck im not 40

Honestly you should start doing this when you start working.

^ Truth. Especially when you get your own place, a job and a personal bank account.

This is the best powerpoint I’ve seen on Tumblr.

people just dont appreciate quality shit nowadays

Do it. I haven’t been lately because I don’t have a job or bills but I’m still going to go back to it

Another thing you can do is, if you have a job, put a certain percentage of your money from each paycheck straight into your savings/emergency money. My dad taught me 10%- but what I do instead, since I only work part-time some parts of the year (because school), whenever I stop working temporarily I take about half-ish of what’s in my checking account and move it to my savings. I’ve been doing that since I got my first part-time job right out of HS. You’d be amazed how fast your savings grows. In he 5 or so years I’ve been using it I’ve only had to withdraw money from it once or twice.

I’m also super cheap by nature and try not to spend lots of money, that also helps.
